George Will Draped in Denim
We’ve already highlighted our affection for George Will, but we couldn’t pass into the weekend without directing you to his latest blow for Western Civilization: an attack on blue jeans. Reading Will’s column is really something to behold:
On any American street, or in any airport or mall, you see the same sad tableau: A 10-year-old boy is walking with his father, whose development was evidently arrested when he was that age, judging by his clothes. Father and son are dressed identically — running shoes, T-shirts. And jeans, always jeans. If mother is there, she, too, is draped in denim. (Emphasis added).
So fair warning to all our readers: next time you fly, think twice before dressing in something comfortable, lest you offend the bowtied one. No doubt he”ll be crammed in a too-small coach seat right next to you and your kids. If that ever really were to be the case, we can only hope the uncomforable, overdressed kid throws up on him.
